£17,000 per annum actual salary for 3 days (Wed-Fri)

My client provides a great place to work and promotes a positive working culture across all of its brands.  This opportunity is key in Protecting the Organisation and it’s Line Managers from the costs and associated risk from non-compliance with employment legislation and ensure that all employees are treated fairly and consistently throughout their employment. This is achieved by:

  • Providing specialist Employee Relations and Employment Policy advice and solutions to Management
  • Being an integral part of the Employment Policy Team and Helpdesk
  • Working in partnership with internal stakeholders (Leadership, Operations & Functions) to identify business requirements to provide advice, recommendations and implement effective commercial solutions
  • Liaising with external Employment Policy providers to drive long term value from their services

The team this role works within support a large management population and a wider employee population of 33,000

The job duties:

  • Manage Employment Tribunals to a successful conclusion, making commercial yet principled decisions
  • Provide professional, customer/commercially focused ER/HR advice and support
  • Support the Employment Policy team their continuous improvement
  • Effectively manage Employee Relations aspects of TUPE (in and out)
  • Identify and manage appropriate consultation processes with potential redundancy outcomes
  • Provide Managers with a highly credible and trusted source of legal expertise
  • Communicate, train, educate and develop Managers to comply with employment policies and make appropriate commercial ER decisions
  • Provide first line support for agreed ‘business crises’ for all of the brands within the Group using the process outlined by the crisis team
  • Analyse and report on EP/ER  matters
  • Contribute to business projects as required, including re-structures, redundancies and TUPE

The ideal candidate:

You will have 2 years+ experience within a ER/HR role ideally gained within a volume environment, this will be coupled with expertise in UK employment law and its application.  You will also have expertise in Employment policy and procedures within Employee relations issues. This will be coupled with the following skills:

  • Excellent Communication skills – verbal and written
  • Calm and controlled under pressure and able to adapt
  • Detail conscious and numerate
  • Proven ability to influence others
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise and deliver to timescales
  • Good organisational and general administrative skills
